Winner Music for Car Parks known!

No less than 194 composers – one fifth from abroad – took part in the international composition competition and composed their unique Music for Car Parks soundscape. Based on the originality, musical and conceptual skills as well as the functionality and artistic value, a professional jury chose with conviction for the surprising and intriguing creation of George De Decker (B) entitled “Avec le bruit d'un vol d'oiseaux de nuit qui passé”. The piece can be heard in hundreds of Interparkings across Europe from May 8 on.

The three laureates were:

  1. George De Decker (B), who wins € 2500, a package of tickets for performances at the Concertgebouw and 1 year of free parking in an Interparking of his choosing.
  2. The duo Mark Ijzerman & Roald van Dillewijn (NL), who won a package tickets for performances at the Concertgebouw and 6 months of free parking in an Interparking of their choosing.
  3. Jarno van Es (NL), who wins a package tickets for performances at the Concertgebouw and 3 months of free parking in an Interparking of his choosing.

The audience could also choose from the shortlist of 10 finalists on the basis of a fragment of 2 minutes that was selected by the finalists themselves. The winner of the audience is: Jan Dertaelen (B). He receives tickets for cultural performances (pop-rock concerts, classical concerts, film, theater, opera, ...) worth € 2,500.
